Ryan Kush is a modern renaissance man turning roadside finds into works of art. Many of the pieces shown here were created from abandoned dressers, pianos, or other salvaged wood. He carefully disassembles the orphaned furniture, saving decorative pieces and hardware for future use. Each board has a new future and a new purpose.
The books are rescued from yard and library sales, attics and trash cans, flea markets and antique shops. After thumbing through the pages of the old hardback books to find illustrations that can be used for decoration or inspiration, Ryan uses a specialized tool and a lot of elbow grease to hollow out each one by hand. The book is then sealed, and assembled with the others, to create a unique and useful work of art.
